The FW48, Williams Racing's newest chassis, requires specific minerals and metals extracted from mines worldwide. Rather than sourcing these materials through conventional channels, the team selected suppliers that employ Komatsu equipment operated according to responsible mining protocols. Komatsu's machinery enables more efficient extraction with reduced waste and lower environmental impact compared to older mining techniques.

This partnership reflects a broader shift in Formula 1. The sport has committed to reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2030, and teams increasingly scrutinize their supply chains.
